FAQ

Curious about working with Big Day the Agency? Here are straightforward answers about what we do, how we work, and why we believe brands cannot afford to blend in. We are a San Diego creative marketing and advertising agency working with brands across the country.

About Big Day

What does Big Day the Agency do?

Big Day develops strategy, branding, design, advertising campaigns, production, and social media for brands ready to stand apart. We find the space a brand can own, then build ideas and experiences that carry across the channels that matter to its audience.

Why is ordinary creative expensive?

Ordinary creative can cost more than its production price. When an ad goes unnoticed, the media behind it works less hard. When the idea fails to stick, teams may spend again to refresh the message or reset the strategy. Big Day helps brands find a distinct position and express it through creative people will notice and remember, so the investment has a better chance to do its job. That is what we mean by Defy Ordinary.

What makes Big Day different from other creative agencies?

We were founded by leaders who had worked inside large agency networks and wanted a more direct way to deliver ambitious work. Our team brings strategy and creative together, assembles talent for the assignment, and uses a transparent process to keep clients involved and informed. We believe strong relationships and high creative standards make better work possible.

Where is Big Day located, and do you work nationally?

Big Day is based in the San Diego area and works with brands down the street and across the country. Our mailing address is 4225 Executive Square, Suite 600, La Jolla, CA 92037. Project teams can collaborate remotely and in person as the work requires.

Services and Fit

What services does Big Day offer?

Our work spans research and insights, brand strategy and identity, design, campaign concepts and execution, video and photography production, and social media. Depending on the brief, that can include positioning, naming, packaging, digital experiences, media planning, broadcast and connected TV creative, and channel content. We scope the disciplines a project actually needs.

Can Big Day help with both brand strategy and campaign execution?

Yes. We can define positioning, audiences, and messaging, then turn that foundation into identity systems, campaigns, content, and production. We can also join at a later stage when a brand has a strategy and needs a strong idea or a specific execution.

Do you work with B2B brands as well as consumer brands?

Yes. Our work includes consumer brands and business audiences, including technology and travel. The assignment changes with the buyer and buying journey: a B2B program may need to make a complex offering clear across events, digital content, sales materials, and social, while a consumer campaign may need to win attention quickly at scale.

Which industries do you have experience in?

Our work includes food and beverage, home goods, travel and hospitality, sports and events, wellness, technology, and other competitive categories. We start by learning the category and its audience, then look for an opportunity the brand can credibly own.

Can you work with our in-house marketing or design team?

Yes. We can collaborate with internal teams on strategy, creative direction, campaigns, design systems, content, or production. The roles, reviews, handoffs, and final deliverables are set in the project scope so everyone knows how the work will move forward.

Do you produce commercials, video, and social content?

Yes. Big Day develops and produces brand films, national broadcast and connected TV commercials, digital video, and social content. Depending on the assignment, that can include storyboards, casting oversight, 30- and 60-second spots, 15-second versions, and six-second cutdowns. We also work across photography, motion graphics, CGI, and post-production.

Can Big Day handle a single project or ongoing work?

Yes. Some clients come to us for a focused assignment such as positioning, a launch, or a campaign. Others need continuing creative and content support. We recommend a scope and working rhythm based on the goals, deliverables, stakeholders, and timing.

Working Together

How does a project with Big Day start?

Tell us about the brand, the opportunity, and the challenge you need to solve. We will discuss objectives, audiences, timing, stakeholders, and budget, then propose a scope, deliverables, and process. Email hey@bigdaytheagency.com to start the conversation.

How does Big Day manage projects?

The BD Process is our approach to keeping modern marketing projects moving. We clarify the scope and decision points, keep clients involved and informed, and adapt when budgets, stakeholders, or circumstances change. The aim is transparent collaboration without unnecessary meetings and emails.

How much does it cost to work with Big Day?

Cost depends on the assignment: research, identity, campaign development, production, media, and ongoing content have different requirements. We discuss the objectives and deliverables before preparing a tailored proposal. If you have a budget range, share it early so we can recommend an approach that makes the most of it.

How long does a typical project take?

There is no single timeline. A focused creative assignment, a brand identity, a national production, and an ongoing social program each require different stages and approvals. We agree on milestones and a schedule during scoping, including time for client feedback and production needs.

How do you measure whether the work is successful?

We start with the business and communication goals, then agree on measures that fit the assignment. A campaign may look at reach, response, traffic, or sales indicators; a brand project may focus on clarity, consistency, and adoption; social programs can track engagement and other relevant actions. We use what we learn to improve the next decision.

How do I choose the right creative agency?

Look for work that fits the ambition you have for your brand and a team that can explain the thinking behind it. Ask who will do the work, how decisions are made, how the agency handles changes, and how it defines success. The right partner should understand your business and be candid about what the assignment needs.

Do you hire or work with jerks?

No.
